Country Inn River Falls

We arrived at check in time, but it took well over 20 minutes for staff to come to the front desk. I booked a King Whirlpool Suite for my boyfriend’s birthday weekend, but when we entered our room it was just a basic room with two queens. No worries I thought, I went back down to the front desk for them to only then admit they downgraded me because all the Whirlpool Suites were dirty and since I used a coupon it was “basically the same price as the queens”. We offered to wait for a clean one later in the night but they said all the cleaning staff left and they can’t call any cleaners and there’s nothing they can do. I just wish they were honest with me and told me when I got there instead of having to find out myself and then getting unpleasant/rude attitude from the staff. Rooms were fine cleanliness wise, but I couldn’t shake the poor interactions and dishonesty with staff. (Also checkout times between what was written in the room vs. a the tiny sign at the front desk said different times. Hopefully they changed that now.)

Terrible experience with the General Manager at this facility along with the cleaning staff. I was provided with an email confirmation stating a noon checkout and at 11:00 we are being pushed out of the room then charged a late checkout fee which later that day they said would be removed. Called again 3 days later as the charge was still showing on the card and was told only the GM could answer questions and that I would get a call back. Never received a call back. I called 2 days later and was told the GM was not in but would call me back, still waiting. The continental breakfast (none are really good) was the worst I had ever seen as well, basically pop tarts and bags of trail mix. Check in staff was fine, but that is about it. AVOID IF POSSIBLE

This hotel is a safe and clean option if you’re in the River Falls area! The staff was extremely accommodating and available for all our questions. The two downsides…breakfast and beds. The breakfast area was clean and had decent coffee but there was limited selection in comparison to other hotels I’ve stayed in. We found the beds to be a bit on the old side, but we’re clean. Overall a great stay for the price point!

Making our reservation was easy, peasy. While checking in, the front desk attendant was very courteous and professional. The hotel was clean and up to date. Patty, the housekeeper who cleaned the room after the last checkout, did a good job making sure the room was clean and stocked upon our arrival. Water gets nice and hot, and the jetted tub was a great bonus to relax those stiff muscles. Morning attendant was just as curteous as the night attendant, and checking out was as simple as checking in was. I will be returning and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the River Falls/Hudson area.
